A false rumor that a "bubble" had formed in the reactor potentially could explode was squelched by the Governor’s office and Harold Denton’s impromptu press conference. For a full explanation of the "bubble" scare click here. It was announced that President Jimmy Carter would visit the plant. Operators continued to cool the reactor.
